They roam the sidelines of Orange County high school and college football games, as many have for decades. They wear the team’s colors and logos and pay attention to each play and player. They are not coaches but orthopedic surgeons from Hoag Orthopedic Institute, and they have for decades volunteered to provide on the field help for injured players.
