Artist Creates Painting to Thank Hoag Orthopedic Institute for Care

Local artist Bradford Rhoades recently honored Hoag Orthopedic Institute with a one-of-a-kind gift.

Inspired by his mother’s back surgery outcomes, the artist painted HOI staff and physicians and generously gave the painting to HOI as a thank you.

“I wanted the painting light and bright because that’s what you guys bring to the world,” Bradford shared. “I honestly feel that you saved my mom’s life.”

Bradford’s mom Carolyn underwent a multi-level spinal fusion at Hoag Orthopedic Institute earlier this year with spine surgeon Jeffrey Deckey, M.D. Bradford added that other doctors had turned down the surgery due to the complexity, and were so grateful to find Dr. Deckey who was confident he could help her.
