Vivien Parayao is HOI 2023 Nurse of the Year

Hoag Orthopedic Institute’s 2023 Nurse of the Year, Vivien Parayao, RN-ONC, is recognized for her professional and clinical excellence. She is passionate about providing quality care and has played a large part in helping the department run more efficiently in the Relief Charge Nurse role.
Vivien originally joined Hoag in 2001 and was part of the team that opened Hoag Orthopedic Institute (HOI) in 2010. She has served as a certified Orthopaedic Certified Nurse for many years.
She earned her BSN from the University of the Philippines- Manila in 1993 and has been a certified Orthopaedic Certified Nurse through ONC for many years. Vivien is an active member of the clinical ladder program and is known for promoting evidence-based practice while still considering the individual needs of her patients.
She is passionate about providing quality care and has played a large part in helping the department run more efficiently in the Relief Charge Nurse role.
“There’s no challenge Vivien isn’t willing to accept or can concur. She is innovative in her practice and a tremendous asset to the organization,” shares her supervisor.
