About Dr. Nader A. Nassif

Dr. Nader Nassif is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who specializes in Total Joint replacements. As a fellowship-trained hip and knee replacement surgeon, Dr. Nassif’s practice focuses on the surgical treatment of hip osteoarthritis and knee osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, inflammatory arthritis, avascular necrosis or osteonecrosis and post traumatic arthritis. Dr. Nassif also specializes in the care of failed total hip replacements and failed total knee joint replacements that require revisions.

Dr. Nassif, who serves as HOI’s Division Chief of Joint Replacement, utilizes the most up-to-date minimally invasive surgical techniques to optimize patient function and outcomes, including robotic surgery for knee replacements. He also utilizes enhanced recovery techniques to minimize hospital or stays for patient undergoing total joint replacements as well as same day discharge.

Dr. Nassif grew up in Southern California and attended the University of California, Irvine where he received his Bachelor’s degrees in biology and physics. He earned his Medical Degree from Harvard Medical School where he graduated with Honors. Dr. Nassif then went on to complete his residency training at Washington University in Saint Louis, Missouri. Following residency, he continued his training at the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) in New York City, where he focused on hip and knee replacement surgery and adult joint reconstruction. Dr. Nassif received additional training at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in advanced joint reconstructive surgery, limb salvage surgery and the care of benign and malignant tumors of the soft tissue and bone.

Dr. Nassif has been active in research and the advancement of joint replacement and reconstruction surgery. He has authored multiple book chapters as well as presented at many regional, national and international meetings. He is active in fellow education as faculty member of the Joint Fellowship Program with Hoag Orthopedics.

Dr. Nassif has also volunteered internationally with Orthopedics Overseas and helped provide orthopedic education and training to residents in Tanzania. Dr. Nassif resides in Irvine with his family, where he also enjoys playing tennis, water sports, long distance running and cycling.
