Hoag Orthopedic Institute Adds New Orthopedic Surgeons and Sports Medicine Specialist to Medical Staff

IRVINE, Calif. [March 5, 2019] – Hoag Orthopedic Institute (HOI), one of the largest providers of orthopedic care in the nation, has announced that it has added four orthopedic surgeons and one sports medicine specialist to its medical staff.
The newest medical staff members include Taylor R. Dunphy, M.D., an orthopedic surgeon specializing in minimally invasive surgery of the knee, shoulder, elbow and hip. He attended medical school at the University of Texas, San Antonio and completed his residency and sports medicine fellowship at the University of Southern California.
Also joining the medical staff is Kourosh Kolahi, M.D., an orthopedic surgeon with advanced sub-specialization in hand and upper extremity. He completed his residency at the University of California, San Francisco and further training in hand and upper extremity surgery at the University of New Mexico.
Adam Rivadeneyra, M.D., is new to HOI’s medical staff as a primary care sports medicine specialist. He is board certified and focuses his practice to non-surgical orthopedics and sports medicine. He completed his residency at the University of Oklahoma where he also served as team physician. He completed his fellowship in sports medicine at John Peter Smith Hospital where he served as team physician for Texas Christian University.
Joshua D. Schwind, M.D., joins the medical staff as an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in disorders of the spine. He is fellowship trained in spine surgery. He completed his orthopedic residency at the University of Toledo and his fellowship in spine surgery at Hoag Orthopedic Institute. He is a former college-level football player.
Travis Scudday, M.D., is on staff as a total joint orthopedic surgeon. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Loma Linda Medical Center and completed his fellowship in adult reconstruction, arthritis and joint replacement surgery at Hoag Orthopedic Institute. Dr. Scudday played college football at University of San Diego.
