HOI Earns Gold Status on CDPH Antimicrobial Stewardship Honor Roll

  • Posted On:

Hoag Orthopedic Institute (HOI) has announced its renewal to the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Antimicrobial Stewardship Honor Roll with the prestigious gold status designation. Prior to this year, HOI consistently had a bronze status designation. This recognition, valid through November 30, 2027, underscores HOI’s commitment to excellence in antimicrobial stewardship and serves as a testament to the hard work and dedication of its team.

Gold status is the highest level of distinction within the Honor Roll, celebrating programs that demonstrate robust implementation of stewardship principles, achieve measurable clinical outcomes, and actively engage the broader community. This three-year designation reflects HOI’s unwavering commitment to promoting responsible antimicrobial use, enhancing patient safety, and preventing healthcare-associated infections (HAIs).

“Being recognized by CDPH with gold status is a tremendous honor,” said Kim Mikes, MBA, RN, CEO of HOI. “This achievement reflects the tireless efforts of our team to uphold the highest standards in antimicrobial stewardship and make a meaningful impact on patient care and community health.”

As a leader in orthopedic care, HOI continuously strives to implement programs that enhance the quality of care while addressing critical public health challenges. The antimicrobial stewardship program has not only improved clinical outcomes but also fostered community engagement to raise awareness about the importance of responsible antibiotic use.
